It's universal.
A lint-free single-use disposable, CathClip securely and gently holds any flexible elongated medical device, such as a guidewire, catheter, or balloon, in between uses during a procedure to save time, reduce procedure costs, improve safety, and improve clinical outcomes. No more damaged/dropped devices! No more lint!
CathClip Features
- Single patient use. CathClip is a single-use disposable. It can be used repeatedly during a patient's procedure on different flexible elongated medical devices and is to be discarded after.
- Easy to purchase, for however you’ll use it. CathClip is available for purchase in 2 ways, which makes it easy to order and receive CathClip in the way most helpful for a particular department: (1) as a stand-alone sterile product (best for those who like to use CathClip in complex cases only to maximize cost savings benefits) and (2) in custom procedure packs (best for those who like to use CathClip in every case to maximize safety and outcomes benefits, while still benefiting from CathClip’s cost savings which has been shown to pay for the cost of CathClip, and then some, when CathClip is used in every case).
- Universal force strength. CathClip securely and gently holds any type of flexible elongated medical device, no matter what its particular characteristics are. CathClip securely retains the stiffest guidewires, holds the most fragile microcatheters damage-free, and performs just as reliably with all other guidewires, catheters, and balloons. Use in any procedure in which a flexible elongated medical device is used.
- Different colors to aid in organization. There is no functional difference between the colors. CathClip's small footprint allows multiple CathClips to be used at once, all fitting in the sterile field (and even in bowls) while holding flexible elongated medical devices. The purpose of the different colors is only to aid in organization, allowing for easy and efficient retrieval as needed. After all, there is no need for different versions of CathClip - it is universal and will securely and gently hold any guidewire, catheter, or balloon.
- Lint-free is safer. Holding and wiping guidewires, catheters, and balloons with materials containing cotton fibers, such as gauze and cotton towels, comes with the risk of post-procedure complications associated with embolization of lint after endovascular procedures. CathClip's foam is a dimensionally stable polyurethane (lint-free) and therefore does not release lint, eliminating that risk.
- Small, convenient size. CathClip measures approximately 2" x 2.25" x 1.25", mimicking the palm of a hand for effective use in securely holding flexible elongated medical devices. CathClip has a small footprint in the sterile field and can easily fit in saline bowls currently used to soak guidewires. 2 CathClips come in each sterile package, and the packaging is small and slim for easy storage, even inside of the cath lab or hybrid OR.
- Easily integrated by aiding interventionalists' current techniques - not changing them. CathClip was designed by an interventional radiologist with easy adoption and the realities of the cath lab in mind. CathClip integrates seamlessly with how flexible elongated medical devices are handled in procedures now - to use CathClip, no additional steps or new techniques are required. Virtually no education is needed.
- Quick to use. CathClip involves no extra prep time or cleanup time. Simply open the sterile package, dip in saline, and CathClip is ready to use. Simply dispose of after the procedure.
- Soft, hydrophilic, non-adherent gripping pads. Before use, dip CathClip's gripping pads into saline. These gripping pads have been tested to stay moist over the course of a procedure. The user can manually run the hydrated CathClip along a flexible elongated medical device to moisten the device and wipe it of adherent blood. If more wetness is desired, the gripping pads can be re-wet with saline.
- Non-slip handles. CathClip's handles are ridged to help the user grip CathClip, even when wet.
- Sterile, biocompatible, latex-free.
